Armstrong was diagnosed with glioblastoma (brain cancer/stage 4) in Nov 2008. He fought with everything he had but lost his battle in April 2009 at the age of three.
I run for others who have fought as well. Their stories should never be forgotten. Please read about them by clicking on the Instagram or facebook link up above. We are in a fraternity that no parent wants to be a part of but we are united by helping one another through the stories of those that have fought cancer.
After my son passed away in 2009, I decided that I would honor my son by running. I keep his spirit alive within me. I have run at least one name in all 99 Iowa counties.I have run 3 marathons, 36 half marathons and countless other races. I am known as the #humanetchasketch and I use GPS to sketch names of those that are fighting childhood cancer. You can send a request to me for a name that you would like to see run/sketched. All of my runs can be found by clicking the facebook link and going to the photos tab
This is my story as told by ESPN in 2018
