My name is Rik Zortman and I am a cancer parent to a child that lost his life in 2009 to brain cancer: glioblastoma.

About Us

Armstrong was diagnosed with glioblastoma (brain cancer/stage 4) in Nov 2008.  He fought with everything he had but lost his battle in April 2009 at the age of three.

Stories Never forgotten

I run for others who have fought as well. Their stories should never be forgotten.  Please read about them by clicking on the instragram or facebook link up above. We are in a fraternity that no parent wants to be a part of but we are united by helping one another thru the stories of those that have fought cancer.

My Story

After my son passed away in 2009, I decided that I would honor my son by running. I keep his spirit alive within me. To this day since his death, I have ran 2 marathons, 32 half marathons and countless other races. I am known as the #humanetchasketch and I use GPS to sketch names of those that are fighting childhood cancer. You can send a request to me for a name that you would like to see ran/sketched.  All of my artistic runs can be found on my personal facebook page. Just search #humanetchasketch
