Running for Others

My name is Rik Zortman and I am a cancer parent to a child that lost his life in 2009 to brain cancer: glioblastoma.

About Us

Armstrong was diagnosed with glioblastoma (brain cancer/stage 4) in Nov 2008.  He fought with everything he had but lost his battle in April 2009 at the age of three.

Stories Never forgotten

I run for others who have fought as well. Their stories should never be forgotten.  Please read about them by clicking on the instragram or facebook link up above. We are in a fraternity that no parent wants to be a part of but we are united by helping one another thru the stories of those that have fought cancer.

My Story

After my son passed away in 2009, I decided that I would honor my son by running. I would run and keep his spirit alive within me. To this day since his death, I have ran 2 marathons, 21 half marathons and countless other races. I now take requests to run names via GPS of others that have battled cancer.
